21 Questions With: Legless Lingerie Model / Athlete / Advocate Kanya Sesser

Legless Lingerie Model Kanya Sesser

No legs, no problem.

Meet Kanya Sesser: the 23 year old lingerie model, athlete, advocate and all-around phenom blasting her way through societal norms and beauty standards – zero legs at a time. Born sans-lower limbs and abandoned on the steps of a Buddhist Temple in Thailand at just 1 week old, Kanya was adopted at the age of 5 and taken to live in Portland with her adoptive parents. After landing her first modeling gig at age 15 with Billabong, she has since scored lingerie and active wear campaigns with the likes of Nike, Rip Curl Girl, and PantyProp, and has even hit the small screen with a recent acting debut on CBS’s Code Black. Choosing a skateboard, not a wheelchair, as her preferred mode of transport, Kanya is also a dedicated athlete with soft spots for skateboarding, surfing and mono skiing, and is currently training to compete in the Winter Paralympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, in 2018.

Currently residing between Portland and Los Angeles, Kanya further devotes her time as a motivational speaker and advocate inspiring others to live their best life – proving that nothing can get in the way of achieving your dreams.

We caught up with the fearless powerhouse on growing up without legs, her top 5 sources of inspiration (spoiler: Bruce Lee is one of them), plans for a return trip to Thailand and more in this exclusive {un}covered interview.
